Forest Hill Library & Hotel Gelato

Forest Hill Library is located near Eglinton Ave W and Spadina Rd. It is located near Forest Hill Collegiate Institute.

Stone monument inscribed with 1939 and 1945, surrounded by trees and a lamppost in a park. Cloudy sky above.

It is a pretty small library. But, it is pretty spacious and easy to get around. I would have said the Forest Hill library is the most accessible library that I have been to so far, except for the fact that the preschool area has two stairs.

Library preschool area up two stairs with blue walls, children's books, a bear sculpture, and a "Summer Wonder" poster. Bright, inviting space.

I liked the way that the bookshelves looked.

Library interior with curved bookshelf structure, computers labeled 502 to 506, and books on display. Bright lighting and carpeted floor.
Library with patterned carpet, computers, and bookshelves. People work quietly at tables. Green sign reads "Photocopy, Scan, and Print Release."
Poster celebrating Toronto's 175th birthday with a vintage map. Located in a library section marked ESL - REFERENCE. Bookshelves visible.
This map is from 2009.
Cookbooks on a library shelf include titles on kosher baking, Mediterranean and Mexican recipes. Signs show nonfiction sections.

After I went to Forest Hill Library, I walked to Hotel Gelato. It was a 7-minute walk, but it was very hilly.

Metallic geometric sculpture under a large green tree beside a red brick building. Surrounded by a metal fence, creating a serene setting.
I used to go to this school when I was three.
Colorful mural on a brick building reads "Love Like it's your Last" next to a mosaic-style face of Charlie Chaplin. Black awning below says "The Chaplin."
Love Like it's your last what?

Hotel Gelato is a cafe that also serves ice cream. I was pleasantly surprised that Hotel Gelato had an accessible bathroom.

White hallway with a door marked "Accessible" featuring a wheelchair symbol. The floor is wood, and a ceiling light is on above.
White toilet in a restroom with gray walls, a paper dispenser, grab bars, and abstract art in a black frame. Floor is tiled.

I got the two featured flavours: watermelon lime sorbet and creamsicle gelato. It was very good.

Sidewalk sign for Hotel Gelato announces "Summer Flavours are Back!" with illustrations of ice cream cones and fruit. Energetic and colorful.
Book titled "Song of the Six Realms" with colorful cover art beside a cup of pink gelato on a black counter, packets in a glass.

Overall, I found Forest Hill Library to be very accessible with one problem, and Hotel Gelato to be less accessible to get in, but I think they tried their best.
